Looking for discovery for the serenity of nature? Lake Mburo offers it all. Zebras skipping elegantly on the plains, while hippos swim lavishly in the water. Buffalos and eland fill the lush green plains, joining the zebra and impala herds. Lookout points are perfect for a picnic watching the hippos, while a young population of giraffe provide more captivating moments. Leopards hide in the trees there are over 350 species to find. This relatively Small Park, sits on 260 kms from the region’s biggest city Mbarara and harbors some animal and plant species that cannot be found anywhere else in Uganda and is an important place of biodiversity. Lake Mburo is at the center of the park, and is a part of a wetland ecosystem consisting of 14 lakes, there is such a blissful tranquility to this park.
