The country has a rich agricultural heritage, with over 80% of the population engaged in farming. As a result, there is a vast array of agro-tourism opportunities available for visitors to the country.

One of the most popular agro-tourism activities in Uganda is visiting coffee plantations. Uganda is known for producing high-quality coffee beans, and visitors can witness the entire coffee-making process, from picking the beans to roasting and brewing. There are several coffee plantation tours available, including those in the areas of Bugisu, Mount Elgon, and Rwenzori Mountains.
A visit to the tea plantations is another option and visitors can observe the tea-picking process, learn about the production process, and sample some of the best teas Uganda has to offer. Some of the popular tea plantations in Uganda include Igara Tea Estate, Mpanga Tea Estate, and Kayonza Tea Estate.

There are several farm tours available in Uganda that allow visitors to experience the daily activities of a typical Ugandan farm, such as planting, harvesting, and animal husbandry. Visitors can also learn about traditional farming methods and techniques, such as crop rotation and composting. Some of the popular farm tours in Uganda include Bulago Farm, Mabira Forest Farm, and Namulonge Agricultural Research Institute.
